Pricing Policy
At Trueman Bailey LAW, we believe in a clear, straightforward approach to pricing. Our billing practices are designed so you understand what you are paying for, when, and why.
Our Practice
We operate in a way that differs from many traditional law firms. We issue invoices at important stages, for example, during a property transaction and at the point of exchange rather than only at the end to keep your matter moving efficiently.
How We Charge
We will:
- Give you an estimate of our fees and explain the billing process when you instruct us.
- Issue invoices at agreed stages as your matter progresses.
- Advise you if additional work is required that will affect costs.
What the Fee Covers
Our fee covers the legal work we perform on your behalf. It does not include payments we make to third parties (known as disbursements) such as:
- Registry, search or court fees
- Stamp duty or taxes
- Specialist reports, indemnity insurance, management packs or other external costs
We will inform you of any such costs before incurring them and include them on your invoice.
VAT & Disbursements
Unless we state otherwise, fees shown are subject to VAT.
Billing & Payment Terms
- We bill at the outset when you instruct us.
- Further invoices will be sent at key stages of your matter such as exchange or earlier if extensive work has been undertaken.
- Payment is due upon receipt of invoice.
- If payment is late, we may charge interest in line with the rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Keeping You Updated
We will keep you informed throughout your matter. If something changes that may affect cost or timing, we’ll tell you as soon as we become aware. You will never receive a “hidden” final bill without prior warning.
