At Trueman Bailey LAW we understand the power of working from home. But not just working from home, of being and feeling like you’re own boss. We know it’s important to you to feel trusted, to feel empowered to make your own decisions, to organise your day and to feel in charge of your own time. We know you are mums, lawyers, friends, family members, pet owners, animal lovers and social people !! We know you want to see your friends without compromising on your work, we know you want to build an empire without breaking a sweat - okay you might break a sweat but you get the jist! Here’s the thing, the reality, jokes aside. We are living in a world still where people haven’t caught up. The industry of the law is stuck in the dark ages and we are living modern lives. As women we want to build careers and we deserve to do so. We want to have families, whether the traditional set up or anything in between - and we deserve to do so. We want to encourage you to do so. We know that, as women, we are often responsible for the family home, the family in general - whether that be elderly parents or relatives, sick siblings, children and everyone in between and it can feel like an ongoing battle. It can feel hard, and tireless and draining and like you are just another cog in the chain. And unfortunately the legal industry presently does nothing to help that. With older white males in charge whom have never raised a child single handedly or bathed an elderly ailing parent or stood outside on the sidelines of a football pitch with a freezing cold child or all or one of the many things we do as women and whilst trying to establish and build a career of our own. We feel sidelined, insufficient to those who are able to work ‘harder ‘ as it is deemed. We feel unable to keep up, to comply, to battle on, to being in work, to do all the admin, to keep files up to date and to see our friends, see our colleagues outside of work, see our parents on the weekend for dinner or spend time with our significant other. It’s hard. We know it’s hard. We knows it’s hard because we have been there and they is why Trueman Bailey LAW was born. From sheer exhaustion of trying to do it and not getting very far! We want you to exceed your expectations and we know you can only do that with clear, defined roles and systems. With efficient processes that work. With an accounting team who take responsibility for all of the banking needs - so many lawyers are weighed down checking accounts and banking and completions that they cannot focus on the job at hand - which is to be a good lawyer and it is a shame that any of us are in that net - but we cannot lie about that being the reality. It just is. We are keen to bridge to gap. Here’s how -
On the 28 March 2025 Trueman Bailey LAW was incorporated (albeit under a different name at the time !) - it was incorporated by Louise Trueman who has been a lawyer in Oxford for 15 years - some of which qualified (2020) some of which as a trainee lawyer and a director of another firm. Whilst working at the previous firm and the firm she worked in for a short period in between opening Trueman Bailey LAW, she realised the strain she was under, the issues the firm was facing with productivity, with innovation, with being able to keep up with the changing areas of law amongst all the other changes of the world. She established that something had to change - for her mental health mostly, but also for her finances, her career development, her autonomy to make decisions and her ability to choose everyday what she did next, not what someone else told her to do next and in doing so, in so, in establishing the firm Trueman Bailey LAW Louise realised just how much more could be achieved in a shorter amount of time when all the other stuff (the crap to put it bluntly !) had been stripped away. No endless meetings about the same subject, no continual training sessions on things she simply didn’t need to know, no constant requests to check banking of which she wasn’t trained to do, no risk taking at the expense of someone else, no being bogged down by endless admin tasks and doing three jobs in one - more probably. So - once all that was stripped away (and then some !) Louise created a firm in under 6 months and today - October 26th 2025 marks the day that our third office is due to open. Three offices, numerous clients, who receive high quality consistent advice and support, numerous new staff and a booming business which works to serve the community and not just themselves.
Why do we tell you all this ? Because we want to inspire you of course. We want you to understand the reality of then, and life now, and how vastly it has impacted each one of our members of the team at Trueman Bailey LAW. We want you to see the difference that you life could be impacted by by making small, and probably rather scary decision, to jump in - two feet first- and take the step toward consultancy. But, you won’t be doing it alone, because we did it alone first. Louise just first and now it’s your turn to jump. In leaving, in jumping , Louise created the blue print. Do we know there are other law firms out there offering consultancy? Yes of course - but do we know we’re different ? Yes of course. We are faster. Facts. We are more responsive. Facts. We are less weighed down by controlling and egotistical males whom deem to know best - and I’m sorry (but not sorry) facts. We work hard, harder than most, we think fast, faster than most and move quickly when we see issues which are arising and need repair. We seek solutions - not problems. We certainly don’t make the problems. We always, always, repair them - as most women do! We are efficient, we are dedicated and we are smart. We think smart and we don’t do anything that doesn’t save time. We don’t spend hours chasing individuals who don’t need chasing and have matters in hand, we don’t send letters where we don’t need to - we make a call, we don’t analyse problems till the cows come home - we do and we figure it out. We work together - in one - in unison and we communicate. We resolve issues fast. We listen. We don’t judge. We don’t belittle. And whilst many law firms claim to have wellbeing at the fore front - sorry but we beg to differ. Wellbeing is about how you are treated, how you are respected, whether you are listened to, whether you are cared for and communicated with. Wellbeing is being able to decide whether you work at 7am for a few hours and go for a walk or whether you switch on at 10pm for a few hours because your kids are in bed. We get it. We really do.
And we would love for you to join us. What we will do -
We will offer to provide you with an admin staff member who will be set up and ready to go. This is unlike consultancy firms we know of whom use one pool of workers in the form of admin and you never know who you’re speaking to. You don’t know if they have done the work or not. This causes stress - we limit stress.
We provide you an office space - yes we will fund the space for you. We pay the bills, we pay the rent and the utilities and the rates. We ask you to bring in the work, we will review this with you, we will help you and suggest ideas for you to try. We will make appointments for local agents if you want us too. But what we won’t do is do it for you. Why? Because we know you can and we do not wish to disempower you from trying. But we will absolutely always be there if you need support, guidance, assistance, advise and to know how we did it. We will do it with you - but not for you.
Well will give you the tools, the marketing which you can amend, the timeline of events and the way we did things, we’ll give you the blue print, the manual and then its your turn
We give you the accounting team - they will talk you through how best to pay yourself and set up the business on your side. Do you want to take on more staff? Can you afford to ? We will help you to understand that.
We will help your business to grow whilst watching you flourish, we will hold your hand whilst you do the work and show yourself your ability.
We do know this isn’t for everyone - we don’t want it to be because this is the best kept secret we’ve ever had. But we are not are not gatekeepers of success and we want to see you build empires where women haven’t built them before. We trust you, you see, and whilst may others may not have nor shown you you could be - we will. That’s our promise. And in return we just ask that you make a business you are proud of, if we trust you we just ask that you trust us and listen to the way forward and the next steps on your journey- because we’ve done it.
At Trueman Bailey - as well as offering the opportunity to be a part of our business scheme we also offer the chance to simply consult. For those who don’t wish the additional pressure of a business, which we know isn’t for everyone, we have two options. We have the route of business running and becoming partners with us in running your own office space and ‘pod’ as we like to call it. And we have the possibility of simply consulting. No additional staff no additional workloads if you don’t want them just you and the work you want to do and using our accounting team to facilitate completions. We know you want to progress matters but some might simply want the quieter life with the prospect of simply taking on what they want, having the balance they want in their life without the additional elements of financial growth and we offer both. You have the choice and once again we put you directly responsible for your finances. We let you decide how you wish to do it and if you like to work from home full time that’s fine with us and we offer that solution. You can work from home, take on what you want and go home when you’re ready. As long as the client is catered for, knows how to reach you and you make provision for the client as and when you are not available (for example by continuing to our admin team) then you take the decisions to do so. We want you to have the flexibility of both.
